Cognect was born from the experience of Adrienne supporting her father, who lives independently with dementia.

In providing this support it quickly became apparent that there was a need for more than a simple Day Clock, a family calendar, copious post-it notes and a whiteboard to help her Dad remember and remain involved in family life.

The ‘behind the scenes’ organising of care tasks between family members from meal planning to shopping to visit planning etc, organised over 100’s of WhatsApp messages, was ineffective and onerous.

With first hand experience of the challenges dementia serves, together with 2 co-founders, Cognect was developed providing a platform solution incorporating a bespoke screen and secure app to support people living with dementia and their family and friends.

The benefits of Cognect can also be extended to older adults living at home and is currently being tested within a small circle of users and their families. Feedback to date has been encouraging and the aim is to launch Cognect to be available to others during 2020.
